All'indomani della conclusione del 58° Festival della Canzone Italiana, hanno cominciato a circolare voci sui nomi che potrebbero salire, in qualità di presentatori, sul palco dell'Ariston per l'edizione 2009.

Numerose le ipotesi, più o meno suggestive e credibili, sui papabili. Una sola la certezza: Pippo Baudo non presenterà il Festival di Sanremo il prossimo anno. E' stato lui stesso a smentirlo il 2 Marzo scorso nella conferenza stampa di chiusura di Sanremo 2008.

Già nella settimana in cui il Festival si stava svolgendo, sono cominciate a trapelare alcune notizie sui prossimi conduttori della kermesse canora: a dare il via è stato Mike Buongiorno, che in una dichiarazione rilasciata ad organi di stampa, ha ammesso un interessamento della Rai nei confronti della sua persona, in coppia con lo showman Fiorello. Mike Buongiorno, decano del Festival (ne ha presentati in carriera ben undici!) ha dichiarato che la Rai gli avrebbe chiesto di presentare il 59° Festival della Canzone Italiana in coppia con Fiorello. Il presentatore dice di non aver però ancora espresso un parere in merito.

E, sempre in coppia con Fiorello, si sarebbe autocandidato un personaggio davvero fuori dagli schemi festivalieri: si tratta di Rocco Siffredi, pornodivo di casa nostra, che dichiara: "Mi piacerebbe presentare il Festival di Sanremo in coppia con Fiorello. E’ sempre stato il mio sogno nel cassetto [...] Io non sono uno showman. Però al fianco di Fiorello, che credo sia l’unico vero showman in Italia, sarebbe qualcosa di veramente divertente e politicamente scorretto. Potrebbe avere un grande successo"

Fabrizio del Noce, direttore della RAI, in un'intervista rilasciata alla rivista TV Sorrisi e Canzoni del 10 marzo, affronta il tema del crollo degli ascolti dell'ultima edizione, e fa i nomi di alcuni personaggi che potrebbero offrire qualcosa di nuovo sul palco dell'Ariston, come l'attore Christian De Sica e il cantautore Lorenzo Jovanotti, che partecipò in gara nel 1989 con il brano No Vasco (classificatosi settimo) e ha preso parte come superospite a Sanremo 2008 presentando la superhit del momento A te .

Altri nomi che si fanno sono quelli di Paolo Bonolis (si tratterebbe di un ritorno, dopo aver presentato l'edizione 2005 del Festival di Sanremo), di Maria De Filippi (che dopo la lunga esperienza con il reality Amici, ha acquisito una certa esperienza in campo musicale) e di Gerry Scotti (avrebbe ammesso che l'idea di presentare Sanremo gli piacerebbe moltissimo); tutti e tre i presentatori sono però attualmente sotto contratto con Mediaset.

Attendiamo di vedere quali saranno gli sviluppi nei mesi seguenti!
